At Your Service

Dan Donahue is a lifelong resident of Worcester's Quinsigamond Village, raised by a union carpenter and a public school teacher. Dan currently represents the neighborhoods of Quinsigamond Village, Union Hill, and South Worcester in the MA Legislature. He also chairs the Joint Committee on Cannabis Policy.

Each session, he sponsors dozens of bills to safeguard workers' rights across the state, making life easier for working families in Worcester. He cosponsors and supports bills which fund our infrastructure and schools and aim to increase access to childcare, housing, and healthcare. Dan loves reading history, sampling Worcester's food scene, and spending time in the great outdoors.

District Wins

Secured major investments for Worcester over the years to:
  • Construct the Blackstone River Valley Heritage Center
  • Build the WRTA Maintenance Facility
  • Improve the Rte 20 sewer line
  • Improve the Dunkirk Ave and Lake Ave pump stations
  • Mitigate flooding and reconstruct the 122/Rte 20 interchange
  • Replace windows at Worcester East Middle School
  • Renovate Gateway Park and construct the boardwalk
  • Build a new entryway and athletics center for the Worcester Senior Center
  • Renovate roadway for Nippnapp Trail
  • Perform wetland restoration and flood mitigation at Broad Meadow Brook
  • Renovate the South Worcester Playground

Career Highlights
Champion​ed landmark legislation, such as:​
  • Fight for 15, which established the 15 dollar minimum wage
  • Reformed Chapter 180 of the MGL, addressing multiple policy areas for the cannabis industry
    • Clarified Host Community Agreements 
    • Delineated business tax structure
    • Created a Social Equity Trust Fund, currently funded at over $25 million
    • Expanded access to expungement​
